1. Computer Vision Workshop 1.0 – The Design and Deployment of Computer Vision Models

Date: 24 November 2023

Hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology in collaboration with Sahaj AI Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru, this workshop offered a comprehensive exploration of computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning through hands-on sessions and industry-led insights.

Organised by the Centre of Excellence – Computer Vision, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in collaboration with Oracle India Pvt Ltd and Proglint Software Solutions.

Conducted in association with Sahaj Software Solutions, this workshop explored the intersection of document intelligence, conversational AI, and multimodal understanding.

Prof Pao Visit and MoU Signing – National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan

The visit of Prof Pao from Taiwan was organised to strengthen institutional linkages and deepen academic collaboration. Discussions focused on internship frameworks with CCU Taiwan, research coordination, funding utilisation, and joint training initiatives for students and faculty.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Research Center on AI and Sustainable Development, National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan. The partnership aims to foster joint research, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative publications, workshops, seminars, and skill development activities — enhancing global exposure and strengthening the University’s research ecosystem.

CoE-CV members conducted field observations at Primary Health Centres in Banda, Nirwada, and Sawantwadi–Sangeli as part of a telemedicine project demonstration. The initiative showcased an impactful healthcare delivery model for rural and underserved communities, featuring an integrated digital workflow combining diagnostic devices, teleconsultation modules, and medicine-dispensing systems.

The visit highlighted strong operational execution, consistent data practices, and high community acceptance, demonstrating the model’s scalability and cost-effectiveness in enabling last-mile healthcare delivery.

Insights gained revealed significant opportunities for AI-driven enhancements in efficiency, accessibility, and patient care. The collaboration between Neurosynaptic Communications Pvt Ltd and CoE-CV is expected to lead to scalable solutions aligned with national digital healthcare goals.
