OIA’s strategy is purposefully aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises internationalisation, academic collaboration, and global exposure for Indian higher education. Our initiatives promote credit transfer frameworks, joint academic programmes, and cross-border research partnerships—helping students and faculty engage with the world more effectively.

At the same time, our work contributes directly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

Frequently Asked Questions, Answered

Is counselling support available for international students?

Yes. The University Counselling Centre offers free and confidential support for issues such as stress, cultural adjustment, academic pressure, and personal concerns. Sessions can be booked directly with the Centre, and the OIA can help connect you with counsellors familiar with expatriate needs.

How safe is the campus and the city?

Campus security operates 24/7 to ensure student safety. Students are advised to follow general safety guidelines while in the city, such as travelling in groups at night and keeping personal belongings secure. Emergency contact numbers for campus security, local authorities, and the OIA are shared upon arrival.

Do I need health insurance while studying in India?

Yes. All international students must have valid health insurance for the duration of their stay in India. Alliance University has an on-campus Health Centre for primary care. Information about nearby multi-specialty hospitals is also provided during orientation.

How can I apply for on-campus housing?

Applications for university hostel accommodation are separate from programme admission. Due to limited availability, students are encouraged to apply early. Details on facilities, fees, and the application process are available on the University Hostels page. Allotment is generally on a first-come, first-served basis.

Is FRRO registration mandatory?

Yes. FRRO registration is mandatory for all international students. You must register with the local Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival in Bengaluru. The OIA conducts orientation sessions and assists you with the required documents and online process.
