Brief Overview

Bachelor of Science (Honours) - BSc (Honours) - Psychology

B. Sc. (Hons.) Psychology programme at Alliance University offers a rigorous and scientific study of human behaviour, cognition, and experiences. It prepares the students with a fundamental scientific outlook towards range of human experiences and actions across different domains of life. The curriculum offers an interesting blend where foundational theories interact with contemporary research and developments in psychology. The curriculum also emphasizes on abundant opportunities of hands-on experience through lab, internship, fieldwork, and research work. The pedagogical approach of our faculty is unique in the way that it focuses on relating the theory with events of current significance happening across the world and the exposure keeps evolving. The programme aims to equip the students with skills such as analytical approach, critical thinking, research mindset, etc. which hone the students’ potential and prepare them for higher studies, professional roles, and a bright future ahead.

PSO (Program Specific Outcomes)

PSO1: Interdisciplinary Understanding of Human Behaviour

Graduates will be able to analyze human behaviour and mental processes by integrating psychological knowledge with perspectives from humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, enabling nuanced understanding of individuals and societies in diverse cultural and historical contexts.

PSO2: Liberal Inquiry and Research-Based Reasoning

Graduates will demonstrate the ability to engage in critical inquiry by formulating meaningful psychological questions, employing qualitative and quantitative research methods, and synthesizing evidence across disciplines to address complex human and social challenges.

PSO3: Ethical, Civic, and Reflective Application of Psychology

Graduates will apply psychological insights ethically and reflectively to promote mental well-being, social responsibility, and inclusive development, contributing thoughtfully to community engagement, public discourse, and policy-relevant issues within a pluralistic society

PO 1. Autonomy

Students will learn the fundamental concepts in psychology that can be applied to attain self-awareness to discover oneself and help to evolve his/her higher human consciousness.

Students will develop positive attributes such as empathy, compassion, ethical and moral values, and social participation to adopt objective, unbiased and truthful action in all aspects of work.
