Master of Technology – MTech – Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

The Master of Technology in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science offers a specialized focus to empower students with advanced knowledge and skills crucial for success in the fields of AI and Data Science. The curriculum is meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive academic journey, going beyond theoretical concepts to ensure practical insights and hands-on experience in real-world scenarios.

The core courses lay a strong foundation, covering essential aspects such as the mathematical foundations of computer science, data structures, advanced algorithms, and software engineering methodologies. Complementing these are programme-specific electives in AI and Data Science, allowing students to tailor their academic experience based on their career goals. Additionally, open electives offer flexibility and a well-rounded educational experience.

This track focuses on the design, intelligence, and integration of robotic and autonomous systems
Students begin with Robotics System Design for Robots and Drones, move to Human–Machine Interaction and Interface, and finally work on Robotics System Integration

Capstone Project

The Capstone Project, undertaken in Semester III and extended through the Dissertation in Semester IV, is a key experiential and research component of the program that enables students to integrate knowledge from Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Edge Computing, IoT, High-Performance Computing, Distributed Systems, and Generative AI to solve real-world industry and research problems. Aligned with the student’s chosen Program Elective (PE) track, the Capstone involves developing a working prototype or system in Semester III and enhancing it into a research-grade or deployable solution during the Dissertation phase, often in collaboration with industry, startups, or faculty research groups. Through this process, students gain hands-on experience in system design, implementation, experimentation, and performance evaluation, ensuring they graduate with strong technical, analytical, and innovation capabilities, making them both industry-ready and research-oriented.
