Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) – BA LLB (Honours)

It is essential for a graduate of law to have a robust understanding of the social sciences. Law and social sciences share a strong mutual relationship. While a legal instrument is a mechanism to express the socio-economic and political will of the State, it is equally undeniable that the effectiveness of the legal system has a definite impact on the society. Hence a successful attorney should have a sound knowledge of the social sciences in order to appreciate how to use law as an instrument of social change. The B.A. LL. B. (Hons.) course at the Alliance School of Law includes Political Science, Sociology, Economics, and English subjects as minor areas of study to supplement the wide range of law subjects that its graduates are required to study.

Program Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria : B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), B.B.A LL.B. (Hons.)

1. A candidate who has successfully completed the Senior Secondary School / Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with not less than 45 percent marks in aggregate, shall be eligible to seek admission to the PROGRAMME.
Provided that, a candidate belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe shall be eligible to seek admission to the PROGRAMME if they have completed the aforementioned examination with not less than 40 percent marks in aggregate.
2. Candidates who have appeared in the 10+2 examination or its equivalent and are awaiting the results are also eligible to apply for the PROGRAMME. In the event such candidates are successful in securing admission to the PROGRAMME, such admission shall be provisional and subject to the candidate successfully complying with the eligibility requirements as stated above.

 

Eligibility Criteria : LLB

1. A candidate who has successfully completed a Bachelor\’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 45 per cent marks in aggregate from a recognized university, shall be eligible to seek admission to the Programme.
Provided that, a candidate belonging to OBC shall be eligible to seek admission to the Programme if they have completed the aforementioned examination with not less than 43 percent marks in aggregate.
Provided further that a candidate belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe shall be eligible to seek admission to the Programme if they have completed the aforementioned examination with not less than 40 percent marks in aggregate.
2. Candidates who have appeared in the final semester examination of the Bachelor’s degree and are awaiting the results are also eligible to apply for the Programme. In the event such candidates are successful in securing admission to the Programme, such admission shall be provisional and subject to the candidate successfully complying with the eligibility requirements as stated above.

The curriculum for a B. A. LL. B. (Hons.) and B. A. LL. B. are the same, but it includes extra courses and specialisations for a deeper grasp of the law. A B. A. LL. B. (Hons.) is for students who desire specialised legal knowledge and research that will give them an advantage in their job, whereas a B. A. LL. B. curriculum is for those who seek a comprehensive knowledge of law and social sciences. Although both programmes are usually five-year integrated law programmes, the (Hons.) degree is more challenging and academically advanced than the average B. A. LL.B. curriculum.
Among the specialisations at B. A. LL. B. are intellectual property rights, white collar crimes, mediation, and arbitration. The assessment of CLAT All India Rank is the first phase of eligibility, followed by a personal interview. In case the student has not taken the CLAT exam, they must take the Alliance University Common Law Aptitude Test (ACLAT) in addition to an online personal interview round. Admission to Alliance School of Law does not require taking the CLAT.
Indeed. Graduates of the B. A. LL. B. (Hons.) programme may work as judges, attorneys, or legal advisors if they fulfil the requirements and pass the required tests.
Alliance School of Law has industry ties and collaborations to provide Assessment Internships to the Integrated programme students and from the first year onwards, the students are eligible to participate in NMCC & ARM\'s (National Moot Court Competitions and Annual Ranking moot (Internal).

The duration of the B. A. LL. B. (Hons.) programme at Alliance School of Law is five years.
