Overview

Where Research Drives Precision

The Alliance University Sophisticated Testing and Instrumentation Centre (AU-STIC), established in 2024, is a dedicated platform for advanced research, innovation, and scientific discovery. Led by Dr Jyotishkumar Parameswaranpillai, the Centre brings together cutting-edge instrumentation and interdisciplinary expertise across chemistry, physics, polymer science, materials science, and nanotechnology.

We focus on enabling high-impact research that addresses emerging scientific and societal challenges. Beyond experimentation, we foster academic exchange through conferences, collaborative research initiatives, and student and faculty exchange programmes with leading national and international institutions.

Driven by Our Vision

We aim to build a state-of-the-art facility that supports interdisciplinary research in chemistry, physics, biology, and materials science while meeting the evolving needs of industry and society.

Guided by Our Mission

  • Establish collaborations through joint research, student and faculty exchange programmes, and partnerships with leading institutions and industries worldwide.
  • Foster interdisciplinary research across science, engineering, and technology.
  • Promote environmentally responsible approaches in research.
  • Offer joint Master’s and PhD programs with universities and institutes.
  • Create a platform for researchers, scientists, and academicians to exchange ideas and knowledge.
  • Drive product development, technology translation, high-impact publications, and patents.

MAJOR PROJECTS

Areas of Impact

We develop advanced blends and nanocomposites based on epoxy, PP, PS, HDPE, LDPE, ABS, PVDF, and PA that demonstrate improved structural and thermo-mechanical properties for automotive and aerospace applications.

Green Composites for Automotive and Aerospace Applications

We develop plant-fibre reinforced bioepoxy composites designed to replace conventional synthetic reinforcements such as Kevlar, glass, and carbon fibre in semi-structural applications.

Recycling and Reuse of Plastics

Our research evaluates the properties, recyclability, and lifecycle performance of recycled plastics to support sustainable material innovation.

Smart Biodegradable Food Packaging Films

We design non-toxic, biodegradable polymer films with antimicrobial and sensing capabilities to improve food safety and reduce environmental impact.

Self-Healing Biodegradable Plastics and Coatings

We develop UV-responsive self-healing polymer coatings and plastics that autonomously repair scratches and surface damage, improving long-term durability.

Polymer and Composite Films for Water Purification

We create biopolymer and nanocomposite membranes for efficient removal of dyes and contaminants from water with high recyclability.

Functional Nanomaterials and Advanced Materials

We synthesise nanomaterials from waste resources for green batteries, CO₂ adsorption, and water purification, while also advancing shape-memory polymers and EMI shielding materials for space applications.
