domains: public policy, sustainability, and ESG. Our Centre focuses on emerging and complex policy challenges by bringing together interdisciplinary expertise from academia, corporates, policy think tanks, governments, and civil society organisations.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our work is grounded in the understanding that sustainability is deeply contextual. As defined by the United Nations Brundtland Commission in 1987, sustainability is about meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. While the United Nations\u2019 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a shared global framework, their achievement depends on how effectively they are embedded within social, cultural, economic, and political realities. Persistent challenges such as poverty, inequality, and exclusion continue to pose risks to SDG progress \u2014 making inclusive, locally grounded policy design essential.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within this context, ESG has emerged as a critical framework for aligning economic growth with social responsibility and environmental stewardship. Although the concept has evolved over decades \u2014 from socially responsible Investing to corporate social responsibility &#8211; it gained global\u2026<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c24f0d5 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"c24f0d5\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-debf3f3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"debf3f3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">responsibility \u2014 it gained global prominence in 2004 through the UNEP FI report Who Cares Wins. Despite increasing adoption, ESG reporting and implementation remain at a nascent stage, particularly within India\u2019s MSME sector, which forms the backbone of the national economy. Addressing climate risk, social equity, and governance gaps requires robust transition strategies, due diligence, and strong policy coherence.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We focus our research and interventions on enabling responsible and future-ready governance through:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Climate and environmental transition strategies<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social equity, inclusion, and just transitions<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Governance frameworks, due diligence, and institutional readiness<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Policy coherence across local, national, and global contexts<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Established as part of Alliance University\u2019s continuing commitment to academic excellence and service to humanity, we design research-led interventions that translate evidence into meaningful policy action.
